Open to new residents

During the current Coronavirus pandemic, we want to assure you that we are committed to keeping all of our residents and staff safe and healthy. We are admitting new residents and by testing for Covid-19 where possible ahead of admission and again immediately on admission, we are able to minimise requirements for self-isolation within the home.

We can welcome visits from family members, in our protected indoor environment. We have a lovely warm room built to allow safe visits for family and friends, whatever the weather.

Safe visits for family and friends

There may be situations where your visit to a resident in their room is very important. Please don’t be concerned, we have procedures in place to arrange this safely. Simply phone the Registered Manager to discuss how we can make this happen.

Keeping our home Covid free!

Our number one objective… and how we are doing it:

  1. Scrupulous infection control procedures that make sure we keep the virus out of the home (details available from the Registered Manager)
  2. Testing all members of staff weekly and residents every month
  3. Ensuring that if staff feel at all unwell, they know that they can self-isolate at home on full pay
  4. Stopping or seriously limiting visits from other groups of people
    1. suppliers are not allowed to enter the building
    2. contractors (e.g. plumbers, electricians) only in an emergency
    3. visits from external entertainers and/or village/community groups are cancelled for the foreseeable future
    4. vital visits by District Nurses, GP’s etc are continuing but these are being carried out under very strict infection control procedures
  5. Every person allowed into the home has to comply with extremely rigorous infection control measures both on arrival and throughout the home

During all of this, I want to assure you that our wonderful staff are doing everything they can to make sure that residents have the best possible quality of life.

Supporting our Staff and Families

We are taking a number of actions to help make sure our staff and their families are supported so they can continue to provide great care through our current challenging times.

We took very early action to ensure that we have excellent stocks of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). As the pandemic has developed we have worked with our PPE suppliers to increase our stocks and to partner with them importing products.

Whilst the global availability of PPE has improved we always ‘hope for the best and plan for the worst’. We continue to invest considerable amounts of time, effort, and money ensuring that we have the equipment to protect our residents and staff. There are shoddy PPE products in the market so we supply all visitors with our own high-quality PPE.

Residents can easily stay in touch with family and friends

We make sure that our residents can easily stay in touch properly with relatives and friends using both modern technology and more traditional means.

In each home, we have devoted even more resources into activities and improving the overall wellbeing of our residents. We invite you to see some of the wonderful pictures on our home’s Facebook page!

I would like to assure you that we are closely following and complying with all the instructions and guidance from Public Health authorities to ensure that we keep our residents and staff safe. We are constantly looking to learn from the experiences of others and, as a result, we believe we are taking preventative actions way above and beyond those advised by the Government and Local Authorities.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the home’s Registered Manager.

Thank you in advance for your patience and support – together we will ensure the safety and health of you and all our residents.
